FieldDoc offers so many features and pathways for data management, we offer tips and tricks to follow the best path for you

FieldDoc supports all users in getting their nature-based data into the system. FieldDoc released a new platform in November 2024. It's inspired by the FieldDoc platform that's been in use for more than half a decade, but has greatly expanded features and functionality so that our users can adopt FieldDoc for all of their nature-based data management needs. Along with the new system, we are growing a Help Center stocked with resources to get you started and keep you cultivating your work here.

Getting started

If you are just getting started in FieldDoc, use the GETTING STARTED tutorials. These tutorials walk users through a basic use of FieldDoc - Sharing some of your Activities and connecting data to a Funder. Here are the steps you will take:

  • Create and set up your account >>

    First things first, you need to create a FieldDoc account configured with your organization and work email.
  • Add data to your portfolio >>

    Second, it's time to enter your nature-based data into FieldDoc. We give you a folder system to organize your activities. Once the Activity shells are created you can add geospatial data, connect to activity types and models, and assign planned values for target metric goals.
  • Share your data to a Funder >>

    FieldDoc makes it easy to share portions of your Portfolio to third parties, such as for applications to funding opportunities. Because all of your data is owned by you and protected by privacy settings, you must go through a few steps to share your work to Funders via Pacts. Once shared, you will be able to add additional metric data to meet reporting requirements.

    Offers Program-Specific Guidance. No two Programs use FieldDoc for exactly the same purpose. Program Managers work closely with the FieldDoc team to make sure you have clear guidance on how to create and share data that meets the program requirements.
