Individual Activity Creation
The best way to add activity data to your portfolio
Step 1. Name your Activity
Each Activity should have a unique name in the Activity Name field. This is the field that you will refer to as you are adding your metrics, linking Activities to Pacts, and tracking implementation progress.
Suggested Naming Conventions
The Activity Names are a convenience for you and your data management team.
In the past, we saw a lot of users rely on the Project-Site-Practice scaffolding to navigate and manage their records. The result could be one project having 20 records named Tree Planting.
The Tables Feature that is enabled throughout FieldDoc makes record management a breeze if you remember to give your Activities unique names. If you have 20 records named "Tree Planting", you'll struggle to figure out which Activity you are updating. We encourage you to give each record an individual name, such as Corellia Tree Planting and Felucia Tree Planting to signify the installation location.
NOTE: FieldDoc will generate a unique FieldDoc Key ID for each Activity Record.
Step 2. Find your Activity Type
Search through the list of supported Activities to select one to associate with your Activity. Activities are a standard list offered to all users across the entirety of FieldDoc. The list has been generated with input from leading modelers, federal agencies, and funders.
How to choose the best Activity Type
The primary list of all activity types includes a lot of supporting information to help you associate the correct record with your Activity.
- Each Activity Type record includes the description, associated models, and program opportunities that use the Activity Type.
Step 3. Delineate your practice
Draw in FieldDoc
Use the Map Modal to delineate your activity footprint. TheGeometry article dives deep into the different draw tool options.
Step 4. Adjust Extent Measurement
Use the extent view in settings to adjust your extent, if the estimate captured via the geometry is inaccurate.
Step 5. Associate Metrics
Associate metrics.
Step 6. Turn on Models
Add the unit input and run a model to calculate estimated sediment and nutrient load reductions.
