Step 3: Share to a funder
Use Pacts to share a portion of your activity portfolio to third-parties
A common use of FieldDoc is for Basic and Standard Users to share Activities to Funders. While this use of the system has existed for years, the process for giving funders access has changed significantly.
Find Specific Programmatic Guidance
No two Programs use FieldDoc in the same way. The FieldDoc Team works closely with Funding Programs to help their grantees and applicants meet specific data management requirements. While your funding program manager is always the best resource for program-related questions, the FieldDoc team also maintains the PROGRAM GUIDANCE section with details for all available Funding Programs.
Create a Pact
Pacts are used for Users to share Activity records with third-party Program Managers, such as funders or state reporting agencies. Once created, you can add Pact-specific Metrics to your Activities.
Create a Pact and then add Activities
Create Activities and then Add to Pact
Add Metrics
Funders who use FieldDoc may ask their applicants and grantees to share metric targets for specific practices. Those can be added to each practice after the Pact has been created and Practices have been added to it.

For automated environmental models, however, you may need to review and input additional data fields to calculate environmental benefits. These models are linked to specific activity types, geographies, and funding programs, but they can be run after the initial activity setup is complete. Some models require additional inputs to generate outputs. Reviewing the funding program guidelines and BMP guidance documents will help you add the necessary modeling inputs when required.
Submit your Pact for Review
A Pact must be submitted to a funder for them to review it. After your Pact has been submitted, the Funder will determine and share the next steps you must take to meet compliance requirements.
